Tour Basics
How large are your tour groups?
We intentionally keep our public walking tours small—typically no more than 15 guests. Smaller groups create a more conversational experience, making it easy to hear, ask questions, and engage with the stories along the way.
How long are the walking tours?
We list the approximate distance walked in each tour listing, but all tours last between 2 and 3 hours and cover 2-3 miles.
Are the tours suitable for all fitness levels?
Yes. Our tours follow an easy walking route at a relaxed pace, primarily along flat sidewalks.
Most routes are ADA accessible and identified in the tour listing. If you have accessibility questions or accommodations to discuss, we encourage you to email us in advance at:
Are children welcome?
Yes. Children ages 12 and older are welcome on our public tours, provided they are interested in history, architecture, and culture and are comfortable walking and standing for the duration of the tour.
If you're traveling with younger children or would like an experience tailored to your family, we'd be delighted to arrange a private tour.
Can I bring my dog or other family pet?
Unfortunately, our tours are restricted to humans only, due to insurance policies and for the comfort of all participants.
Is the tour appropriate for New Yorkers?
Absolutely. Whether you've lived in New York for ten months or ten decades, you'll see familiar places through a different lens. Many guests tell us they never look at the neighborhood the same way again.
Booking & Pricing
How much do tickets cost? How do I buy them?
All of our public walking tours are currently $50 per person.
Tickets are available online, and advance purchase is recommended, as group sizes are intentionally kept small.
What is your cancellation policy?
Public tours: Cancel up to 48 hours before your tour for a full refund. Late arrivals, no-shows, and cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable.
Private tours: Cancel up to 72 hours before your scheduled tour for a full refund.
Weather: Tours take place rain or shine. If we must cancel due to severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you'll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.
What is included? What is not included?
A guided tour in English led by a licensed New York City tour guide and historian.
Gratuities are not included but are always appreciated.
The Day of the Tour
Where do we meet for the tour?
Each tour listing indicates the meeting location and start details. After booking, you'll receive a confirmation email with everything you need to know before the tour begins.
Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early. Out of respect for everyone in the group, tours begin promptly at the scheduled time.
What if it rains or snows?
Our walking tours are conducted rain or shine.
However, in cases of severe weather (blizzard, extreme heat), tours may be canceled. Participants will be notified via the email used at booking, and refunds or credits will be issued.
