Hi, I’m Heather, a historian specializing in medieval and early modern European history, with an M.A. from Emory University. My courses are designed to offer depth without the classroom feel, exploring distinctive topics through art, architecture, objects, and the stories behind them. I hope you leave seeing familiar places differently, whether you’re preparing for a trip, revisiting one afterward, or simply following your curiosity from home.

My fascination with cathedrals began as a teenager, when I spent a summer living with a French family in Paris through a foreign exchange program. The first place they took me was Notre-Dame de Paris. I had never seen anything like it. From that moment, history and French became central to what I studied, both in and outside the classroom, and medieval cathedrals became places I returned to again and again.
